A Look Back. . .

I thought I would do some posts over the next few days about our summer. We have had quite the not so boring one at that. Our summer was filled with sadness, fun, fear, surgeries, vacations, bbq's, and did I mention fun? So lets begin . . .

NANA

Our summer began with a lot of sorrow. Our Nana was diagnosed with cancer in May and passed away June 2. She was such a big part of our lives and she will truly be missed. I was fortunate to be able to spend the whole day Friday with her before she passed (which was the following Monday). I am so grateful for that time I got to spend helping her and weeding her favorite rose garden.

She taught me many things, especially the importance of family. Many great and wonderful family traditions came from her and her love of family gatherings. It will be a transition period these holidays without her. I will miss the family get-togethers in her basement for Christmas and the 4th and 24th of July BBQ's at her swimming pool.

WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU, NANA.

Britt, I'm sorry to hear about your Nana. I remember when we went swimming in her pool--was it graduation night? And it seems like I remember a really cool pink tiled bathroom. I also remember when we played Bunco together! :) I know you'll miss her terribly.

One thing about us getting older--it means our families are getting older too. :(
