A Look Back. . .

I thought I would do some posts over the next few days about our summer. We have had quite the not so boring one at that. Our summer was filled with sadness, fun, fear, surgeries, vacations, bbq's, and did I mention fun? So lets begin . . .

NANA

Our summer began with a lot of sorrow. Our Nana was diagnosed with cancer in May and passed away June 2. She was such a big part of our lives and she will truly be missed. I was fortunate to be able to spend the whole day Friday with her before she passed (which was the following Monday). I am so grateful for that time I got to spend helping her and weeding her favorite rose garden.

She taught me many things, especially the importance of family. Many great and wonderful family traditions came from her and her love of family gatherings. It will be a transition period these holidays without her. I will miss the family get-togethers in her basement for Christmas and the 4th and 24th of July BBQ's at her swimming pool.

WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU, NANA.

Down at the Carwash

Okay, so I have been toying with the idea of blogging for sometime now and I decided to give it a try. So brace yourselves, this could get ugly. With a two year old there is never a dull moment so I should have plenty to share.

Last Saturday I was washing one of our cars and Kinley said "I want to wash my car too". So she rode it out onto the driveway, got a rag, and started shining her up. She was having so much fun and getting soaked in the process. Of course I saw this as a perfect photo op! She washed and rinsed like a pro.

This car of hers is the cleanest it has ever been. She cleaned it over and over for literally an hour or more. It kept her busy so I could even wash our house windows. Of course Kinley looks for any excuse to play in the water!
